Doors, windows and daylight

Opening shapes, frosted glass, resize handles and time of day.

Place in 2D or 3D

Choose Passage, Door or Window from the toolbar, Space panel or wall properties. In 3D, click a clear visible wall; window height follows the click within valid bounds. Right-drag/touch still orbits while placing. Escape cancels the placement tool. Openings cannot overlap or extend outside a wall; up to 20 openings fit on each wall.

Shapes, glass and doors

  • Passages and doors have rectangular or arched tops. Doors have solid/glazed leaves, frame/leaf colours, hinges, swing side and an initially open/closed setting.
  • Windows can be rectangular, square, round or arched. Set sill height and clear or frosted glass. Square/round dimensions stay proportional.
  • Frosted glass hides the exterior but retains incoming daylight. Windows are never walkable, even when their sill reaches the floor.

Move and resize an opening

Select its frame or use Select and edit in the wall’s opening list. Move and Resize expose wall-aligned handles in 3D; the floor plan supports dragging and width edge handles. Windows move horizontally/vertically; doors and passages stay floor-anchored. Exact fields remain in Properties. Delete removes the selected opening only; Undo restores it.

Time of day and outside view

In Gallery settings, choose Day, Sunset or Night, a Garden/City panorama and window daylight strength. Room brightness and artificial lamps are separate. These are lightweight visual approximations, not weather simulation or ray tracing. Outside doors do not create an explorable outdoor area. Publish after changing the saved environment.
